INVOKATION Series
In the INVOKATION Exhibition (1998), each piece was inspired by a particular place or on a road trip around Australia. The places which captured my imagination were documented with drawings, photos, text and "found objects' later brought together in collages.
Often, the works were an attempt to hold together different, and sometimes conflicting, versions of specific sites, especially Indigenous and non-Indigenous histories. Each piece was an attempt to invoke the spirit of that place. Latitude and Longitude coordinates give locations.
